Comments about Powermatic 3520B Lathe Remote On-Off Switch:

I bought this switch right after getting my 3520 lathe. I wanted the safety and convenience of a remote switch. I use this switch almost every time I use my lathe, and I'm on my lathe nearly 5 days a week,and the switch has shown no issues for me on its reliability. I've heard alot of stories of others having problems, and I expect I'll eventually have to disassemble it to clean contacts or replace. Meanwhile, this is an excellent addition and I would miss it to not have it, especially when doing work that you don't want to reach around to main switch to shut the power off.
I'd recommend it.

I bought this switch shortly after I got my lathe. After a week of use, the switch failed. Sent it back to Powermatic, they sat on it for a month before I had to call and light a fire under them. Confused technician said he would send a new one out to me. I received back the same switch, which had a bunch of RTV gooped on it. After using it for two days, it failed again. My advice is make your own. I am going to send it back to CPO.
