Comments about JWP-DRO Digital Readout for Planers:

This digital readout came with my Powermatic 15HH planer since it was the 90th anniversary edition. I was moving up from a portable Delta planer that had a Wixey DRO installed. The difference is night and day. This DRO read only in decimal inches and the analog scale on the slider is marked in 10ths of inches. The Wixey reads decimal and fractions. Since the Power button also doubles as the Zero Out button it is very easy to lose your setting and have to recalibrate the whole thing. The Wixey is a no brainer here with a separate on/off button and an auto shut-off mode. The display on this DRO is so low that you have to bend down to see it. In addition, it isn't angled up to look at, it mounted so the display is horizontal.
The Wixey is half the price of this one.
